Our Principles
Our programme is based upon NZ curriculum "Te Whariki" and the four broad principles of this curriculum are:
-
HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT
We are committed to valuing each child's individuality with their developing programmes. This holistic development encourages parents and teachers to look at the child's whole development, which includes emotional, physical, relational, intellectual, creative and spiritual development. This perspective encourages adults, to organize children's growth without any limit of gender, age, ethnicity, ability or background.
-
FAMILY AND COMMUNITY
We are committed to involve the wider community in our programmes and activities. We are aware of the importance of our whanau in our decision making. -
RELATIONSHIPS
We are committed to build positive relationships with others. Children learn through responsive and reciprocal relationships with people, places, and things. An understanding of appropriate behavior and boundaries. -
EMPOWERMENT
We are committed to empower our children's self-help, self-care skills and independence skills, so they can learn and grow through real experiences and experiments. This exploration supports them to take risks, develop problem solving skills and nurturing strengths and talents.
